With No Words Spoken The words hang between us Like a pale gray mist With nothing left to say My face becomes a mask of hostility and anguish Through the corners of my eyes I see columns of sorrow free fall past Dark masses moving silently through the walls Consuming the flickering candlelight wandering around the room With no words spoken They lightly touch my skin Arresting my soul And leaving an imprint of grief in their wake Rage spins out of nothingness And my lips tremble as waves of fury convulse inside me Go! Just leave me damn you! Wait! No… Please stay My hands make sullen whispers as I pass them across my eyes The room now filled with a dead deep silence I fade into a patch of moonlight bright against a dark stone wall And eternally regret the indignant words that drove you away |
